Spring Break in Cairns

Hello everyone,
I'm back from my trip to New Zealand! It was amazing and made me realize that I need to see more of the world. The problem is that I have now reached so broke that I didn't have enough money to pay for my cab last night. Yes, that was embarrassing. Anyway, I'm sure that you all want to know about what I've been up to and I shall inform you through pictures.
A Koala that is actually awake. We saw this at the zoo on our way to the Daintree.

It's a kangaroo with a Joey in its pouch!

The pretty view on the pier where we docked our boat to go snorkeling. I got sea sick on that boat and I never get sea sick. There were about 15 other people that got sick as well. So, if they offer you medicine so that you won't get sick take it. It was not fun to watch everyone throw up.

Victoria and I Snorkeling at the inner reef at Fitzroy Island!
A fish at the Great Barrier reef!

This is the coolest thing we saw. It was second only to the turtle swimming through the reef on our glass bottom boat tour. It's a blue spotted sting ray! Ooo glowing.

Fitzroy Island

I'm not actually paddle boarding, I'm just sitting on the board because I can't swim. Victoria did paddle board though!
Sadly that is all of the pictures that I have from Cairns. I had a lot more and plenty of us at the reef, but I may have accidentally deleted them. If I do recover them at some point, I will upload a video of the rest of the pictures. The next time I upload I will give you guys a better idea of what I did on my spring break trip to cairns! Until then!

Blah, Blah, Blah

Hello Internet people!
Sorry guys! I wrote this about 3 weeks ago and completely forgot about it. Hope you enjoy it anyway!

Look whose back with another blog! I don't actually have anything important or profound to say. I am more writing this blog to procrastinate. I would much rather do this than write my english paper that's due on Thursday, or my Media paper that's due on Monday, or even do my 120 pages of philosophy reading. Oh why must the semester now be swamped with work? Can I not just vacation, and is it time for that nap? Jokes, I already took a nap today.

I guess while i'm writing I will tell you about future travel plans. In less than 2 weeks, I will be going to Cairns to snorkel at the Great Barrier Feef, jump out of a plane (didn't do that), and Zipline(not that either. Apparently Jungle surfing and zipping are not the same thing) through the Daintree rainforest. When did I become such a daredevil? Oh that's right, when I decided that I would go to Australia and be adventurous. Not long after this, I will be visiting Auckland, New Zealand, and then going on an 8 day cruise. Smart planning on mine and Victoria's part as we get to vacation and relax right before we board a plane back home to New York.

That's all the excitement that we have to look forward to. Sad to say that not much has happened since I last wrote. It's mostly been a blur of classes and assignments. It's also sad to say that the partying has slowed down a lot, although it is somewhat of a relief to just take a break and curl up in bed with a good story. I'm slowly running out of things to talk about on this blog, so if there is anything that you guys want to know (about my experience in Australia), please do let me know and I will address it in my next blog post. You can ask in the comments or via twitter @sharlieey. As always, thanks for reading!

Bye everyone.

"Pledge allegiance to the struggle"

Hello Internet people,
I am actually posting, and no that is not a sign of the apocalypse. First the reason that I haven't updated in so long is because my laptop was broken! How did it break you may be asking (or not), and the answer to that is that I accidentally repeatedly slammed my bedroom door into it. Oops(shrugs shoulders stupidly). I promptly took it to Apple, but they misdiagnosed it a lot, which led to my not being able to use my laptop and my anger at the world, plus a breakdown at the Genius bar.
A lot has happened since then, and I will update you over the next several posts. First is my new obsession with Iggy Azalea. I love her songs!(belts out)No money, no family, 19 in the middle of Sydney!

I will keep this blog short. I am down to my last little bit of money (less than 1000) and I need to make that last for the next two months. Tip to everyone out there to budget properly so you do not end up broke and living off of cereal. If it does get to that however, I recommend Uncle Toby's Honey Cheerios; I love those.

Next thing is: school sucks. Sorry, but it does. There will be some classes that you truly enjoy, but to be honest, I would much rather be asleep, or doing more important things such as nothing. I was warned that Australian Uni was much more difficult, but at the time I just thought they were insinuating that I was dumb and so was my school. That's not the case and uni is different here. It's not that the work is harder, it's that it doesn't stop. At home there will be essays and readings. Here the essays are never ending. As soon as you're done with one you're writing another one for a different class a few days later. Grr stress.

The final thing I will warn you about in this blog is that it got cold like a month ago. So pack your hat, pack your winter coat, and pack your fuzzy socks. That is not a joke, I was freezing and really wished that I had packed my fur lined leggings (faux fur).

Anyway thanks for reading, and rest assured that the next blog will be much more interesting because I will be telling you all about my trip to Cairns! While there I did things like snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef and Jungle surfed through the world's oldest rainforest. Well, that is all for today folks. I will post again sometime this week once I finish this English paper on Beowulf that's due this Thursday and is worth 50 percent of my grade (rolls eyes and glances at window).

Goodbye, I'm off to watch Supernatural season 9!
