Sydney Mardi Gras and Koalas!

Hello Internet people,

I promise not to make this blog incredibly long and boring, as the last two may have been. So, last I wrote, I told you guys about my first week in Sydney. I will now start with Friday. Oh Friday was a fiasco. As I type this I am laughing at how crazy it was.Victoria and I decided to go out so, we started drinking. As usual, we have no idea where we are going, so we go out to the green, because that's where all of the other village kids hang out before they collectively move to a legit party. Anyway, we hang out at the green, and go to a house party in the village. We end up having free beers and ginger beers.

This was after we already had like 2 glasses of coke and rum. It was too much. Of course, we got really drunk, and tried to get into scubar, but we couldn't because we were too drunk to get in. We really should have drank responsibly, but I just couldn't say no to free drinks, especially because alcohol is freaking expensive in Australia. Like 60 dollars a bottle expensive. However, you guys should drink responsibly. Learn from my mistakes.

After not being allowed into the bar, we went back home. What was fun about the next morning was that we had to get up 6:30am, because IES had a field trip planned for us. We went to the Blue Mountains, and the Featherdale National Park (zoo). The blue mountains would have been fun, but we were hungover and it was pouring rain. The visibility was absolutely awful, and by the end of the day we were just glad that it was over. I got some decent photos though.
Penguins in Australia! That really pissed Victoria off, because she doesn't like animals in captivity. The Zoo was the perfect place for her! Note the sarcasm. She had fun anyway.

Look how cute it is! I think it's a Wallaby or a Wallaroo, I honestly have no idea. I got to hold a baby Wallaby when we left the park and it was so cute, I couldn't stand it. It was in a pouch, and it was like holding a puppy. I love puppies.

Again no idea what this is, because it was dark and I was too hungover and lazy to look up and read the sign. I thought it looked cool though.

Look at how pretty the birds are! What's truly impressive about this picture is that there was a fence that made it very hard to get a good shot of them, because there was only an inch of space between each gap.

This is one of the waterfalls at the Blue Mountains.

That's me hugging a huge koala after seeing an aboriginal presentation. IES took us there when they realized that it was not a good idea to take us hiking to see the Three Sisters in the rain. We left once I took this picture, and surprise, the rain had stopped by then. Myself, Victoria, Melony and Michael then walked to Oxford Street to see the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade because we heard that it was legendary. Because we showed up 3 hours early, we were able to get really close to the front. It was pretty cool, but by 9 we were ready to go. Of course that means that we only saw an hour of the parade after 3 hours of waiting for it. In our defense, we had been hiking that day, and we were still hungover. I only managed to get these two pictures because my phone was completely out of space and wouldn't let me take any pictures.

Yeah, that is a guy dressed like the pope walking down the streets with gay men in sex costumes. It was funny to me, but easily offensive to others.

These bikers were pretty cool too.
Well, that concludes this blog post. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
Until next time!
