Let's chat!

Hello Internet people!

I know that you guys haven't heard from me in a while, and I'm truly sorry for that. The semester is now in full swing, and I am being swamped by the amount of reading that I have to do, but am not doing. I have 4 essays due within the next 4 weeks, but if I manage my time right that will not be a problem. But, who I am kidding, lol I'm not going to manage my time right! I enjoy my life of drinking and partying too much. I would much rather lay in bed, read fan fiction all day, and then go out to the club. Unfortunately, I do actually attend lectures and tutorials most of the time (cough, it gets harder every week). I made a video explaining that whole set up, but I'm not sure when that will be up.

I know that some of you must be curious about the actual course load, so I will insert a sample of my typical week of reading. About 75 pages of philosophy reading, 2 chapters of Deviance and Difference reading, 1 section of Beowulf, and 1 chapter of media reading as well as a blog post and an assigned article. Yes, it does drive me crazy. This is how I deal with it:

Naps are amazing.
I will now stop boring you, and catch you up on all that has happened through a select group of picture. To be honest these past few weeks have blended together into a big blur of nothing. What did I do? I have no freaking clue.
One of the first things that Victoria and I did was go to the Future Music Festival.  That was flipping amazing. I felt like I was in a modern day Woodstock. It was very hot and I nearly died from heat exhaustion. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but that's what it felt like. I now love Macklemore and if I ever get around to editing those videos, you will all see why. We also went with our friend Melony, but we lost her at the festival.
Victoria and I decided to Barbecue and that went pretty well. We all sat on the green and I ate my steak while itching to death because I am allergic to bugs, and there were bugs everywhere. PS, do not attempt to cook sweet potatoes on the barbie (hehe Australian slang) because they take forever.
Me and Victoria on our way to side bar. Do not go out on Tuesdays. There was nothing happening. But, Monday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's are good days to go out.
A picture of me in front of the sign to the villages. You know, just in case someone didn't believe that I was there.
Victoria and I in her elevator heading out to some club. I don't remember where we went.

This is us at the Opera house. We were all dressed up because we saw a play! That was a good time, except that I was horribly sick and was coughing the whole time. Just in case you're curious, the play was a Winter's Tale, and I thought the performance was rather mediocre.
I really loved this dress. I found it when Victoria and I got lost in the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and ended up at a mall. This was the gown that I bought after trying on 500 dollar gowns that I couldn't afford. This one was 40 dollars at Dotti.

Well people, that is what happened while I was gone. It's not very exciting. At the moment however, I am in a feud with my housemates and am terribly annoyed with most of them. I won't get into that, so that concludes this blog post. As always I hope that you enjoyed this post. Since our friend Nate was annoyed that he hadn't been mentioned in previous blogs, Hi Nate!
Until next time everyone!

Sydney Mardi Gras and Koalas!

Hello Internet people,

I promise not to make this blog incredibly long and boring, as the last two may have been. So, last I wrote, I told you guys about my first week in Sydney. I will now start with Friday. Oh Friday was a fiasco. As I type this I am laughing at how crazy it was.Victoria and I decided to go out so, we started drinking. As usual, we have no idea where we are going, so we go out to the green, because that's where all of the other village kids hang out before they collectively move to a legit party. Anyway, we hang out at the green, and go to a house party in the village. We end up having free beers and ginger beers.

This was after we already had like 2 glasses of coke and rum. It was too much. Of course, we got really drunk, and tried to get into scubar, but we couldn't because we were too drunk to get in. We really should have drank responsibly, but I just couldn't say no to free drinks, especially because alcohol is freaking expensive in Australia. Like 60 dollars a bottle expensive. However, you guys should drink responsibly. Learn from my mistakes.

After not being allowed into the bar, we went back home. What was fun about the next morning was that we had to get up 6:30am, because IES had a field trip planned for us. We went to the Blue Mountains, and the Featherdale National Park (zoo). The blue mountains would have been fun, but we were hungover and it was pouring rain. The visibility was absolutely awful, and by the end of the day we were just glad that it was over. I got some decent photos though.
Penguins in Australia! That really pissed Victoria off, because she doesn't like animals in captivity. The Zoo was the perfect place for her! Note the sarcasm. She had fun anyway.

Look how cute it is! I think it's a Wallaby or a Wallaroo, I honestly have no idea. I got to hold a baby Wallaby when we left the park and it was so cute, I couldn't stand it. It was in a pouch, and it was like holding a puppy. I love puppies.

Again no idea what this is, because it was dark and I was too hungover and lazy to look up and read the sign. I thought it looked cool though.

Look at how pretty the birds are! What's truly impressive about this picture is that there was a fence that made it very hard to get a good shot of them, because there was only an inch of space between each gap.

This is one of the waterfalls at the Blue Mountains.

That's me hugging a huge koala after seeing an aboriginal presentation. IES took us there when they realized that it was not a good idea to take us hiking to see the Three Sisters in the rain. We left once I took this picture, and surprise, the rain had stopped by then. Myself, Victoria, Melony and Michael then walked to Oxford Street to see the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade because we heard that it was legendary. Because we showed up 3 hours early, we were able to get really close to the front. It was pretty cool, but by 9 we were ready to go. Of course that means that we only saw an hour of the parade after 3 hours of waiting for it. In our defense, we had been hiking that day, and we were still hungover. I only managed to get these two pictures because my phone was completely out of space and wouldn't let me take any pictures.

Yeah, that is a guy dressed like the pope walking down the streets with gay men in sex costumes. It was funny to me, but easily offensive to others.

These bikers were pretty cool too.
Well, that concludes this blog post. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
Until next time!

Free fun in Sydney: My first week in Australia

Hello Internet people,

I am back again to inform you all of my first week in Sydney. Currently, I am sitting in bed and eating yogurt and cereal for lunch because I can't afford to eat out today, and there is no lunch food in my house. I just got out of my first class (Media in Contemporary Society), even though I am not officially enrolled in anything, since I just transferred to the University of Sydney.

I am going to try my best to tell you what happened last week, but it's all kind of a blur. After we left the jet boat ride, Victoria, myself, Jenny, Michael and Melony went for a walk around town. We walked to China town and exchanged our money for the colorful dollars and heavy coins of Australia. The money is so pretty, that it was like a party in my wallet. Anyway, from the harbour, China town is about a fifteen minute walk. In china town, we didn't do much. We saw a magic act on the street (street performances were popular that day), stopped for ice-cream at what I believe was Hagen-Daaz under a different name, tried to find a cell phone, and went into Paddy's market for about 10 minutes before it closed. Most places close at five in Sydney, which is a little hard to get used to.

Later on that night, I believe that we got something to eat at an orientation event for the villages at Sydney. Since at the time I didn't live at the villages, I had to sneak some burgers form people that did live here. The theme was Hawaiian, and it was pretty fun. The line for food was ridiculous, but we did get to have goon spiked punch and see some people dance with fire. If you don't know what goon is, it's a cheap boxed wine that will get you wasted and may contain fish parts. Doesn't that sound delicious? Later on that night we went to side bar with some people and that was pretty fun. I was exhausted after a couple of hours though.

The next day we met up with Michael at UNSW and went to the beach. First we went to Cogee. That was decent, but only because I didn't pack a bathing suit in my over night bag, and just ended up watching them swim and climb rocks in the freezing cold water. This is what Cogee looks like:
We had burgers and gelato for lunch and caught the bus to Bondi (bond-eye). I actually bought a swimsuit while there and we played in the water for a bit, and then I took a nap because I was so relaxed. I had to leave that same day because I had orientation at Macquarie early the next morning, so this is where I left. Noting exciting happened, and the next day I was back in Sydney. A bunch of really boring things happened, like watching movies and TV, simply because it was raining and not nice weather to do anything. We did eat out a lot of places, and Mad pizza in Newtown is the place to go Mon-Fri, 5-6 because that's when they have their 10$ large pizza special.

The next time I post a blog, I will finish what I did in Sydney with what I did over the next weekend. I promise that one will be more exciting because I did some pretty cool things that weekend.

Some more picture:

I think this is a view from Cogee, but I'm not entirely sure
Thanks for reading,
Until next time!

First weekend in Sydney

Hello Internet people,

As promised, I'm back with another blog. This one isn't quite as miserable as the last one, in fact, I hope that you guys actually enjoy this one. I'm going to go all the way back to when I first got here (Australia). On the first day, we were taken on a dinner cruise on the harbour. This was pretty fun. I was wearing 4 inch wedges and was desperately trying not to fall down, but I got to see Victoria, and meet some really nice people. Dinner was decent, and if I remembered what it was, I would tell you how it tasted, but I don't remember. What I do remember that each table got a bottle of champagne. I only had 3 glasses, but it was a really good champagne and no doubt cost a lot of money, but since I didn't pay for it, I don't care. What I found really exciting about the cruise was seeing the Sydney Opera house and the Harbour bridge.

That was a lot of fun, and after that IES took us back to our rooms. Once back in my room I had a breakdown of epic proportions and realized that I needed to get out of Macquarie.

So, the next day was our official orientation with IES. I had to get up extremely early to catch the train because the buses weren't running that early in the morning (7AM). Myself and a couple of other people walked half an hour across campus in order to catch the train. That wasn't that fun, but the trains were freakin' cool. They're double decker trains and I was obsessed with them. It was really exciting to me for some strange reason (Cough, tourist, cough). Orientation wasn't as fun, but we did learn some Australian slang, and I learned that I am flat broke. I am so broke, that by the end of this trip I will have zero dollars, or negative money.

Anyway, later on we had an awesome lunch in Darling Harbour at a place called blackbird. The food was awesome, and I fell madly in love with sweet chill sauce. I do remember what the food was. We got flat bread pizza and chips(fries) for appetizers and my main course was a chicken burger with more chips! I will definitely need to go back there again. About an hour later my friends on got on our jet boat ride and that was AMAZING! It was everything that I thought it would be and I never wanted it to end, but after 20 minutes of awesome turns and jumps, the ride did end. I have to tell you all that once the driver started going fast, he played music. The very first song that he played was (pause for dramatic effect) Wild ones by Flo Rida! I was so excited that I teared up a little. Yes, it was a very emotional weekend, and yes, I did feel like I was in the Wild one's music video.

Now since this blog is getting horrendously long, I will end it here, and tomorrow I will upload part two of this blog. Thank you all so much for reading. Hope you enjoyed.

Here are some extra pictures of my first weekend in Sydney
February is the month of love in Sydney, and this is celebrated with a bunch of romantic events, and finished with fireworks at the harbour on the last day of February.

A very blurry picture of an island in the harbour.

A picture of the city, because this was hours after I landed, and I was very excited to be in Sydney, so I took lots of pictures of everything.

Until next time!

Excuses, Excuses

Hello Internet people,

I know that you haven't heard from me in a while, but I promise there is a reason. Since I last wrote, I went to Florida for a week. This was a very fun and relaxing time. The only downside was that there was absolutely no Internet at all. Normally I would just use my phones data, but it seems that Sprint was  unable to recognize where I was, as I had no data. That was over a week ago, which could only mean that I am in Australia!

Yes people it is true. I have been here in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia for the past week. A lot has happened that has left me very flustered, annoyed and excited. First, I have been busy exploring all of Sydney which means that I was only in my room for a few hours in total last week. I only get wifi in my room, so that left me unable to access or update my blog in any way. However, the main thing that has taken up my all of my time is the process of frantically trying to transfer from Macquarie University to the University of Sydney within 2 weeks.

I absolutely hated Macquarie. It was in the middle of nowhere, the villages were located in the forest, and the campus wasn't very pretty. The transportation was hard to get to because the train is a 30 minute walk away, and the bus is slow. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I will always be honest in this blog.

Finding a live lizard in my toilet was the last straw. I cried for several hours and had panic attacks for the rest of the night. I was so desperate to leave that I willingly agreed to pay the 1000 dollar fine. In case you guys don't know, I'm flat broke. Those 1000 dollars had to come from an unsubsidized loan because I could not stay at Macquarie any longer, but couldn't afford that fine. To end this rant, I now attend the University of Sydney, and I will be officially be enrolled in classes sometime this week (I hope).

Sorry that this blog mostly consisted of updates and me complaining. No worries mates, I will be posting another blog tomorrow that will detail all of the fun things that I have been doing, and it will include pictures as well. I will also be posting a video on YouTube showing you guys all the things I did while I was in Florida sometime this week. Thanks for reading!

Until next time

P.S. this blog is in hot pink font because the black font option isn't working. Sorry guys
